Eric Arthur Hammer is a multi-disciplinary artist, who is commonly known by his stage name Doc Hammer. He is a most notable as co-writer, editor, the co-creator of venture Bros, and voice actor for the animated television series The Venture Bros.. He is also a musician; he is currently the guitarist for Madison Strays and was part of the bands Mors Syphilitica. He is also credited for being the inspiration of the Venture Bros. episode “Are You There, God? It’s Me, Dean”, based on his bout with testicular torsion.

Doc Hammer was born on February 2nd in New London, Connecticut, US in1976; He has attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston to study pottery, but dropped out. Through his roommate was Ben Edlund, he met Christopher McCulloch who is a creator, director, and co-writer (with Doc Hammer) of The Venture Bros.Hammer and Edlund have collaborated on various scripts (including Crawley), and Hammer also has contributed to McCulloch’s comic anthology Monkeysuit.
